Default Specification
Defender is actually the merging of two “Desert Operation” kukris, the OIFK (Iraq) and OEFK (Afghanistan). Demand for a longer and heavier blade, and requirement for a modification with the superior aspect within both kukris (blade of OIFK and Handle of OEFK) have created the “Defender” to better the best. The blade’s 15 inches long range coverage backed up by a complete fuller version for strength and performance, unique hand-guard featuring full tang handle and special attractive cream leather scabbard distinguishes the Defender from the rest; defines Defender’s defiance against its invaders.
Handle::
Special handle for combat and use; swift and safe. Typical khukuri shaped handle is replaced by KHHI’s exclusive handle where the top front portion is erected from the actual surface/level to protect the using handle; the erected contour will ensure that the holding hand stays restricted within the handle so it can be prevented from slipping towards the sharp edge of the khukuri blade. The design and shape of the handle is crafted to give the best possible and fast handling. The full flat tang goes all the way through the handle, glued to the wooden pieces and further riveted to strengthen the whole fixture. The regular butt cap (pommel) is discarded but the naked tang pops out of the handle where a circular hole is made as a lanyard hole (wrist cord). White wood is used for the handle to match it or camouflage it with the uniforms of the soldier.
Blade::
Scabbard/Sheath::
The scabbard of this knife is made in cream (Off White) colored leather to match its handle. A frog with fasten-up style in the front and two belt loops at the back are used for better look and stronger hold. This type of scabbard is durable and displayable as well.
[15” Defender also comes in black normal buffalo hide leather scabbard (same style as in the picture). Please write the preferred scabbard color in the “Comment and Message” box while ordering]

The khukuri love affair
I can't upload photos as they have to be below 1MB. this thing is perfect for my application. It's not heavy on the belt and has a very slim profile in the western sheath. I was expecting it to be awkwardly heavy, not even close. Paired with a Hultafors 3.5lb felling axe and the mora garberg for the woods of Alberta in little old Canada. Using this to replace a cold steel royal kukri and a estwing 26" camp axe. Very low weight all things considered, low footprint and could hike all day with it on the belt. Thank you "K", Mr. Hari Krishna Baraily, my life will end up relying on this over the coming years. I thank you for the outstanding job. I have owned the Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri in the past, this is better. You can tell it's hand made but is so close to immaculate you would think it came off a modern production line.

A true beast of a knife
I use knives hard, none of my blades are display pieces. All my knives are working knives that need to be able to take a real beating. Im a farmer and an adventure traveler who spends a third of the year working with indigenous communities in the Colombian Amazon. I'm not a knife collector, if a blade doesn't suit my needs I will usually get rid of it. I have owned this knife for several years now, and am truly impressed with the durability and ruggedness of this blade. I have used it in the forests of the American northwest and northeast, the deserts of Mexico, and in the Amazon. It has batoned wood, built structures, cut down small trees, been used as a draw knife, hatchet, machete, and hammer. I have even used it in conjunction with the small auxiliary knife to carve spoons. All told I am very impressed with this knife. At nearly a kilo with a centimeter thick spine it is a massive blade. it can do anything a hatchet can, but will hold a razor fine shaving edge for hours of use. Its weight and geometry give it the cutting power of a much larger tool, often I use it along side Colombian farmers welding 24 inch machetes and will consistently out perform them, cutting through lengths of arm thick tropical hard wood in half the time. I have literally hammered it through 8" thick knotted rounds when there was no other tool for splitting fire wood available. The fact that this knife is still in one piece is a testament to the workmanship of this company and its employees. All told as much as this knife gets beaten, I am very happy with it. It certainly does the things I need it to, however I do have a few criticisms, mainly about the handle. It is excessively large, if your hands are on the small side this isn't the knife for you. Also the handle has a tendency to come loose when being worked hard and start to rattle around. This can be hell on your hands. In the end I replaced the original handle with a simple leather wrapped tang. If I were to buy another one of these I would get it with the L-key setup for sure, and possibly ask for a slightly smaller handle. Even with these issues this is still the best heavyweight working knife I have ever owned. I would recommend it in a heartbeat to any one looking for a lifetime do it all blade that will see heavy use. Muchas gracias, keep making amazing blades. Abraham
