dbad Big Jim Bowie

I just received my bowie today and it arrived early. It is incredible! The craftsmanship is superb. Sharp as a razor, and stout. It's a full quarter inch thick at the spine. It's a large hunk of steel, but lively in the hands. I opted for the leather sheath. It is not just leather, but wood core covered by leather. Just like the khukuri's. The whole package is well worth the price.

How to say ? This knife is a beast...I have been a knife lover for over 40 years. I have never seen a blade like this with such intensity. It's a knife made to last and endure the worst. A strong blade for tough times. Yes, the knife is handmade, it has tool marks, but it is a raw finish. And this blade, I don't know how to say... it seems alive. The fit of the handle and the profile of the blade are perfect. The craftsman ARJUN BARAILY is an artist. Respect. DBAB's design is extraordinary. The knife is perfectly balanced. We don't feel its 960 grams. I have also never had such a comfortable grip. Well done.

I received the Dbad Musso Bowie that I ordered from this web site as well as the Dbad Preacher that I ordered from Ebay together in the same package. Never expected that to happen and your customer service is absolutely the best!!! Both of these knives have gone above and way beyond my expectations for quality and cutting ability. The sheer size of the Musso Bowie has to be seen in person to be appreciated as the pictures really doesn't do it justice. It is just absolutely massive. That being said the blade is still light enough to be very lively in the hand for jab or snap cuts. If you were to carry this on any solo backpacking foray, Man or Woman, it would no doubt give great pause to any nefarious person who didn't have good intentions that you met on the trail. Trust me, once you were to draw it out of its sheath and visible to your assailant, it would chill the blood in their veins. It comes razor sharp and will shred paper all day long. You can process wood with it and make feather sticks as well as baton some medium sized rounds for fire preparation with no problems at all but in all honesty, it wasn't designed for that. This is a fighting knife designed to intimidate & cut and will give great comfort in those times when calling 911 just isn't going to be fast enough.....The Dbad Preacher is perfect for that though and it will do all the above and more. The wood grip fits the hand perfectly and I find that it will function as a kitchen knife as well as fire prep. The sweeping blade can be used for butchering and all around camp chores. It may be smaller than the Bowie but it can still be used for defensive purposes and if you squint a bit, you can see the Khukuri similarities in its design. Quality is exceptional. Both blades are under priced for what you get IMHO. Buy from KHHI and you will not be disappointed!!!

THE GHURKA'S ARE FINE SOLDIERS WHO REGUARDED THEIR REGIMENT AS THERE 2nd FAMILY.
MY UNCLE WAS A CHINDIT WHO FOUGHT WITH THE GHURKAS AGAINST THE JAPANESE IN BURMA DURING THE 2nd WORLD WAR,  SERGEANT JAMES BENNETT, THE GHURKAS CALLED HIM ( SERGEANT BENNY ).  HE HAD GREAT RESPECT FOR THE GHURKA SOLDIERS THAT HE SERVED WITH.
