dbad Predator knife; customized- redesigned & remadeIn 1987, body builder turned actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, made one of the most iconic movies to ever grace the silver screen, Predator. As Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer, Arnold teamed with Sonny Landham who played Billy. It was he, who made the Predator machete famous in his role as an Italian/Sioux tracker. The movie knife was designed by designer/maker and legend Jack Crain. We decided to pay homage to this amazing piece of Hollywood history, by not just recreating it, but by making it a whole new animal.
What’s so special about the blade?
Using 21 inches of hand hammered 52100 steel, the 8mm thick stock is pounded into an amazing satin and polished chopping tool, ready for any jungle and the 15 inch blade will have no problems creating a path.
What's the grip?
Using house made micarta scales, we fully contour a massive 6 inch grip suitable for even the biggest of hands. The scales sit tightly against the steel welded on guard and are held in place with steel pins.
The build wouldn't be complete without a scabbard built for movie magic come to life. Hand crafted leather is formed to perfection in a western style pattern with dual retention straps and dual tie down D-rings. And the orange stitching? When you see it, you too will see why it was a must.
