a D-Guard Bowie that is truly battle ready; your Calm yet Cruel companion, be it at peace or in war...

Designed by YouTube knife reviewer Donnie B All Day, this mammoth D-Guard Bowie is as capable as it’s ancestors before it. A blade that can be wielded from horseback as easily as it could be on foot.

What’s so special about the blade?

Using quarter inch 52100 steel, this true full tang knife features a blade stretching 14” with a 6” rosewood handle for a massive 20” reach. The oversized fuller reduces weight through the center of the blade helping to carry the weight to the front of the swing, making it the most capable chopper you can put in your hands.

Why use wood scales?

The D-Guard Bowie was popularized during the American Civil War. Like the originals before it, this knife uses wood scales for an organic grip and flawless contouring. Using wood also helps for making a perfect fit for the guard to seat closely to the scales.

The DBAD Old War Bowie is a fascinating knife from Mr. Donnie which we thoroughly enjoyed working on it. Its one of the best knives we have ever done and something that you can really depend on. The design is cleverly done by DBAD keeping the historical essence, functional aspect and also the battle point of view in mind. The long sweeping blade profile with deep fuller well supported by its straight comfortable handle having “D” guard with a very nicely done Western Leather Sheath make it a complete package to carry with pride and comfort in mind. I as the Founder and MD of the company hearty thank Mr. Donnie for his amazing knives. I must admit that we would have never come up with such master pieces had it not been for him. We hope to continue our brotherhood for a very long time and promise together to working relentlessly to making high quality knives at best possible prices for the public. Thank you Donnie sahib!!

amazing piece

An amazing eye opener that Jim Bowie would be proud of. Cuts through wood like butter and no edge damage-a knife that will become a family heirloom and worth much much more than the price asked for. Love the look at peoples eyes when i pull it out-some actually back away-thank you Donnie b all day and KHHI for an amazing piece.

A "Dotanuki" Battle Blade

In the famous Japanese series of "Lone Wolf and Cub", the main character carries a large and heavy battle sword referred to as a "Dotanuki" battle sword. The name means "Pierces thick torsos" according to the story and the swordsman claims he can cut his way out of any four walls with that beast of a sword. After unboxing this beast described as an old war Bowie, I put her through her paces. As a fencer, it was instant love for me but a word of warning is warranted here. While you can certainly use her as a camp knife, this beast is closer to a short Cavalry Sword than an actual knife. She's large, thick, sharp and heavy! That won't be a problem for those with actual experience with a sword fighting system such as fencing, but for those that are not, be prepared to feel like your wielding an axe instead of a knife. That's not a bad thing if you're wanting a blade for war. But if you're into camping, there are other suitable options. This baby should be reserved for the big boys who take blade craft seriously. 10 out of 10 for me. Beautiful and stunning.

Gentleman The knife arrived yesterday and it is indeed very stoutly made, my only recommendation is that the D guard in the photos has a more pronounced curve then the D guard on my knife. That slight outward bend of guard is attractive too the eye, my version is very square and tight too the grip.
No complaints it’s a quality Bowie style knife and I like it very much. My compliments too the knife smith. Thank you for producing such fine blades.

Amazing Knife

I received the dead Old War Bowie knife today. It is absolutely perfect and exceeds my expectations. The craftsmanship and quality are truly impressive.I have a lot of knives and this is my new favorite. I showed it to a few of my friends and they plan on getting one of their own. This is my first purchase from Khukuri House and I will definitely be buying more knives from them. Their customer service and communication are excellent. I highly recommend this knife and Khukuri House.

I really did my research before buying the first bowie in my knife collection, and here we are :D It's giant, sharp straight from the box, and absolutely beautiful.. Blade finish with a slight pattern, rosewood scales that shine beautifully red in the sun, elegant finger guard.. The knife itself handles more like a sabre than a knife, the cutting power is off this world :D handle is big enough for large hands and various sabre grip styles. A great purchase, either as a wallhanger, survival knife or cutting practice. I also purchased the EDC knife with it, it's sturdy as hell, convex edge style with a thick blade and a lovely sheath, 10/10 would recommend. The package was wrapped, oiled and protected, and I loved all the extra materials with instructions on usage, maintenance and blacksmith's data card. Namaste from Slovenia :D
