Forestman PRO (Yeti) ; perfect and modern Kukri Knife

 A strong and durable kukri modified/redesigned by a western man.

The designer >>

Daniel Linstromberg is an Eagle Scout, hiker, avid outdoors-man, and knife collector. He wanted a blade that was heavy enough to chop well, but light and fast enough to bushwhack and use for hours without fatigue. He wanted the blade to be a worker, and that is what was created. There were many blades he tried, each with their merits, but none that were exactly what he desired. He took aspects from other designs he liked and dismissed the aspects he did not like. This design is a true middle ground from his favorites. There may not be a true 'one tool option', but this is close to it. Congratulations to Daniel for this superb design and modification. We are very proud to carry this kukri knife.

Name & title

Forestman PRO, titled as 'Yeti' by the designer is a superb working kukri knife having a well balanced and effectual blade (the main benefit of the knife) with a very easy and comfortable handle which becomes a must when it comes to going to the forest or any wilderness. The kukri is easy to carry and use which is the main feature of the knife. The effortlessness and effectiveness it can deliver is its ultimate strength.

making explained >>

YETI is an improved version of the famous light series of KHHI the Forestman (SLEEK). The same blade is fitted but with an even better fitting grip and nicer-looking handle. It gives the user a solid and very comfortable feel and thus the blade becomes more effective. The handle is fitted with L-key set up and thus is very durable. New ALL black leather sheath (no wood inside, Western style) is supplied for the blade for very easy usage and great look.

Yeti Kukri with Western Leather Sheath
Major features of Forestman PRO (Yeti) kukri are listed below :

  • Light weight – for continuous prolong usage;
  • all bevel - for deeper impact/cut;
  • Well polished blade – for easy maintenance (rust free);
  • Full flat tang wooden handle strongly secured by L-Key nut-bolts and epoxy – for lifelong durability;
  • V comfortable handle with rings - for extra grip and easy and effective holding;
  • lanyard hole - for the leather string to go thru to tie in the wrist;
  • Western Leather Sheath –for an easier and quicker draw, easy to carry, and stunning look.

The Forestman (Yeti) is definitely one heck of an all-out all-purpose utility kukri knife that becomes like an extension of your arm when it comes to cutting. This kukri can be your survival cum working tool in the forest and bushcraft. One of the best hand-forged Nepali kukri that can be used in the wild Himalayas to dense Amazon forest.

Great, nimble blade!

Namaste to great professionals of KHHI. I ordered 7' version for forest/campfire knife, and im really happy whit quality. Crafting tookd estimated time and shipping from Nepal to Finland was fast, less than week, but total delivery time was around 2 weeks due to sometimes really slow finlands customs system. Been using the kukri couple months mainly splitting and batoning pine and birch up to 4,5' diameter and its great for it, not so good thou as my 8' panawal, but good to its slimmer blade and lighter weight. Area before blade works great for getting sparks out of ferro rod and the handle cant be praised enough, its just perfect. Sheat is great quality and sturdy. it's lanyard and dangler rings makes easy carry whitout limiting any movement. It holds edge great, i stropped it lightly first time couple days before writing this review and good as it came, nearly shave sharp. Truly a great tool for forestman. Thank you all great people of KHHI for making these lovely blades.

DHANAYABAD!

Receiving a package from KHHI Nepal is always very special. Not only has it travelled nearly 5000 air miles to the UK, but I know that it contains a carefully wrapped khukuri that will be a pleasure to own and use. How do I know this? Because this is my fourth khukuri from KHHI , and like the other three, it is a superb example of the knifemakers art. My other three khukuris, although different from each other in length and weight, are all made in the traditional manner. This one has a Nepali blade of KHHI design, but a Western style handle with a L Key fastening system. It is a supreme blend of form and function. It is made from 52100 steel, so will hold its edge once sharpened. Once again I can recommend KHHI without reservation, not only for the quality of their handmade khukuris, but for their customer service, which is of the highest standard and would put many bigger, Western companies to shame! I can't help saying that it can take a parcel sent from the bottom of the UK to the top of Scotland, a mere 600 or so miles, longer than it takes KHHI to send a package to the UK!! Many thanks to everyone at KHHI for a superb product and excellent service.

unique in a few ways..

Todays #knifeoftheday is the @khhinepal's #forestmanproyeti
This khuk was designed by @denalidownsouth (instagram) and it is unique in a few ways.
The khuk is about 1/4" thick as opposed to the typical 3/8", its very fast in hand, the handles are PERFECTLY shaped, and they are BOLTED on, as opposed to the normal nepalese epoxy pin combo that has failed me a few times.
This is a cool, westernized khukuri that would make a great addition to anyones camp kit!
